MINAMI

Shou just left my house.

I got a weird dream just now. Shou was kissing me Somehow the dream seems to be a little real, or I was thinking too much?

“Masato, I need money.” I rang my manager.

“How much do you need?”

“More than 50,000,000yen.”

“Are you crazy!?”

“I need it. Desperately! Please.”

“What about your own account?”

“There’s only 100 000yen inside.”

“You used up all your money?!”

“For shopping and spa.”

“Minami, that money is for your industry use. I can’t lend it to you.”

“What if one day the news header is “Minami died because of her manager wouldn’t give her money”?”

“I’m so gonna strangle you now.”

“I’ll transfer it into your bank account. But you must return it one day.”

“Thanks. You’re not going to ask why I need the money?”

“No. I’ll probably get a heart attack if I knew the truth.”

Tora, you’ll watch me, I’ll get the same one for you!

I started to call up some of my crews and the band who played for me to seek for helps. No luck for today. They couldn’t find any information bout the guitar. I guess the guitar was really rare and like what Nao had said 5 in the whole universe.

It’s already been 6 days since I started to find for the guitar.

“Minami-san? I found what you’ve want.” Kiyoshi suddenly called me. Kiyoshi is one of the guitarists from the band.

“Really? The exactly same one?”

“Yea, I didn’t know that my uncle had it for his collection. I told him you want it and he straight away agreed to sell it to you.”

“Oh, I’m really grateful! How much did he sell it to me?”

“Since it’s rare, 80,000,000yen.”

“What!?”

“I’m sorry, I couldn’t negotiate the price. He’s being persistent with the price he wanted.”

“Oh, thanks. I’ll take it.”

I called Masato and he shouted at me again.

I met up with Kiyoshi, took the guitar and called Nao immediately.

“Nao, its Minami here.”

“Oh, hey, you’re alright now? We haven’t heard from you since that day.”

“Sorry bout that. I fell sick after that, but I’m fine now.”

“You’re sick?”

“Yea, fever.”

“You should have told me about it. I can pay you a visit.”

“Didn’t Shou tell you about it?”

“Shiiiyoouuu? No. that idiot never mentioned anything about it. He didn’t do anything weird to you?”

“Well, I sort of had a weird dream, that he’s kissin….Never mind, my reason to call you is…is it possible for you to give me Tora’s address?”

“Did I hear kissing?”

“No, I said Tora.”

“Tora?”

“Yea.”

“Why?”

“Don’t ask.”

“Okey. I won’t ask. I’ll send it through mail to you.”

“Just keep this as a secret please, Nao. Thank you so much. I owed you one.”

It’s was 10 at night and I couldn’t wait to return Tora’s precious guitar. He’ll be shock for sure. I showed the cab driver the address and he dropped me in front of an apartment. I went up to the 3^rd floor. It’s kinda dark outside the corridor. I pressed on the door bell. After a minute, Tora opened the door.

“Minami?” Tora was definitely shocked.

“Yes, I am. I brought what I’ve promised to.” I pushed the guitar case on Tora’s chest hardly.

Tora held it firmly and looked at the case. Suddenly he started laughing.

“Any problem here, sir? I already did what I’ve promised and I owe you nothing.”

Tora continue laughing and ignored what I said.

“Tora-san, it would be nice if you answer me why you are laughing.” I said angrily.

“Sorry, come in first.”

“Thanks, but I have to leave now.” I rejected.

“It would just a few minutes.” This was the first time I saw Tora laughing that happily.

I stepped into his house. There house was small, there’s only one bedroom where I could already see it from the entrance. There’re two fat cats lying on the couch, quite relaxing themselves. Tora pushed me over a table and pointed to a guitar case.

“Take a look here.” he said.

“OH MY GOODNESS! My 80 000 000yen!” I screamed. I can’t believe he got the same guitar that I’ve been crazily looking for it! “You do have an extra one kept inside your home, don’t you?” I asked Tora.

“No.” Tora answered coldly.

“Then? How much did you get this for?”

“Free.”

“FREE!? But how?!”

“I took the broken pieces and returned to ESP. Since they gave me a lifetime warranty, but it’s too bad to be repair. Because I’m kind and lucky, they still have another one keeping in their store, so, they gave it to me.” Tora said.

I was speechless and my heart was aching right now!

“My money.” I cried. “Why didn’t tell me earlier?”

“You never ask.”

“How could I ask that question when I know nothing.” I continued screaming. I seriously looked like a fool to Tora now. He can’t stop laughing and smiling at me.

“Stop it. You annoyed me.” I said to Tora.

“I’ll keep both of the guitars.”

“But I bought it with my own money.”

“But you bought it for me.”

“Bb…bu.buut.. but…”

“How bout this, I’ll take the one you brought and you’ll keep mine.” Tora suggested. “As a gift, to prove my apologies.”

“I don’t even know how to use a… a gift?” I looked at Tora with a shocking face.

“Sorry about that day.” Tora suddenly apologized to me.

“You actually used that word ‘sorry’?” Tora stared at me with a pissed look. “Sorry. I mean, apologize accepted.”

“I was angry during that time and I couldn’t control myself. That’s why I said such to you. Hiroto had explained everything to me.”

“Oh.” I don’t know what to answer him.

Both of us were awkward now. We stayed silent for some time, staring at the guitars. I glanced over to see the clock.

“Oh no! It’s going to be 11 now! I got to go. The bus service end at 11.15pm.” I got up and left the house.

“You should take the cab.” Tora replied. “The driver adviced me to take the bus because seldom got cab drove here during the night.” I said. “Then you should get going now.” Tora packed up the guitar and sent me to his door. As I was leaving the door, “Minami!” Tora called out my name. “Sorry.” he apologized again. That was the very first time I saw Tora being tender and soft to me. I gave him a smile and quickly headed to the bus stop. Tora…

TORA

I was amused that Minami could actually find the guitar. The way she screamed and cried just now, somehow showed the innocent and silly side of her. I took out the guitar and started playing a few notes. The strings were fine and it’s genuine. She would have screamed till her lungs explode if it’s a paste.

I went to the fridge to get myself a can of beer. Mah, out of beer. I looked out the window, realized that it’s already raining. I wondered how Minami is; its only 10 minutes after she left and probably she already get into a bus. I grabbed the umbrella and walked to the nearest mart.

The night is getting colder and colder. I saw Minami standing under the tree, rubbing herself to keep herself warm. I ran over to her and shield her.

“Minami, shouldn’t you be leaving here already?”

“The bus just drove off right after I reached here. I missed the last bus.” she cried.

“Why are you standing nowhere in the middle of the street? There’s a mart nearby.”

“I don’t know about the mart!”

“You’re so silly. Then you should go back to my house or give me a call.”

“I don’t know.” Minami shivered.

I walked Minami back to my house. She’s dripping wet and her face was pale.

“I’ll get you some clothes.” I said as I walked to my cupboard and started searching a T for her. I finally found one black shirt and the size wasn’t too big for her. “Here, change it quickly, before you catch a cold.” I closed the door and left her changing in my room.

“Minami! I forgot bout the trousers!” I accidentally turned the door knob and Minami was only wearing her undies. SHIT! MINAMI DIDN’T LOCK THE DOOR!

MINAMI

I could not move my body and I was speechless. My heart pounds like crazy. I’m half naked, exposing to Tora. Stupid Tora, get out! Why are you standing still over there!? I wanted to shout to Tora, but my voice won’t come out.

Tora suddenly hugged me and pushed me to his bed. I was surprised but I dare not to show any movement.

Tora was lying on topped of me now. He was staring into my eyes with his wild eyes. He leaned over and pecked me for the first. Then second kiss last a little longer with a passionate kiss. I’m still weak and could not reject Tora’s kiss. I was really nervous and astonished. As I thought I was going to do it with Tora, he suddenly jumped up and left the room immediately, with a loud slam on the door.

I lay on the bed, looking at the white ceiling, thinking what did Tora meant just now. I'm confused. I quickly get up and wear the shirt. The T-shirt was longing enough to cover till my thigh. I don’t dare to go out from the room now. I hid myself under the blanket and soon fell asleep.

“Tora! You’re being a total jerk!” Shou shouted at Tora. “You made her cried.”

“I didn’t know that she would cry.” Tora said.

“Are you stupid? She’s actually a weak girl when comes to this.” Shou said angrily at Tora again. “You better apologize to her.”

“Me? Apologize? She broke my guitar and I haven’t asked her to get me a new one and now you asked me to apologize to her?!”

“Err, mind if I say something?” Hiroto suddenly raised his hand.

All of us were looking at him intentionally.

“Actually, it’s my fault.” Hiroto said.

“Hiroto, you do not need to cover up for her. Her chest and hand were bruised, obviously the culprit was her. If she hadn’t ran and chased around. I heard her.” Tora said.

“Hiroto ran around too. So it was his fault. He’s the one who made Minami chased him.” I said.

“Shut up Nao.” Tora scolded.

“Yes, Nao was right.” Hiroto said.

“She can choose not to chase you.” Tora said dispassionately.

“OK! I used my leg to trip her and made her fall. I’m sure no one saw it.” Hiroto confessed.

“Stop creating story.” Tora still continue blaming on Minami.

“Nao, did you record the scene just now?” Hiroto looked at me.

“Yea, but its kinda blur.” I said.

After watching the video, I did not record the time when Hiroto tripped Minami.

“Trust me Tora. It’s my fault to trip her. Just, please apologize to her.” Hiroto begged, “I’ll find a same guitar for you.”

“After years of time together, do you think I’ll force you to buy me a new one?” Tora was a bit calmer.

“Well then, find Minami now and apologize to her.” I said.

“No.”

“What?”

“It’s still her fault. I’m leaving.” Tora said and left immediately.

“What about our practice?” Saga asked.

“Forcefully call off for today.” I said as I cleaned up the broken guitar.

“I’m leaving too.” Shou said.

“Where to?” Hiroto asked.

“I want to find Minami.” Shou answered.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea.” Saga said.

“Why? She needs someone to talk with now.” Shou said.

“It’s not like she broke up. Just let her be alone. My intuition told me that she needs to be

alone.” said Saga.

“I’ll go home then.” Shou said and left.

“Err… just the three of us now?” I asked. “Since then, I’ll go home after cleaning up. Minami sure had a hard like metal chest”

“She seriously broke it into pieces? Is she wearing a metal bra? Ironlady.” Saga asked as he came over to help.

“Yea, I think she fell badly.” I answered.

Both of us looked straight at Hiroto.

“What!? I didn’t see that the guitar was there. Tora would never bring this here.” Hiroto said.

“Now you mentioned it, Tora won’t bring this guitar here. It’s too expensive to be use. He treasured it and he doesn’t even let us use it for a minute.” said Saga.

“I’ll try to talk to him later.” Hiroto said.

“YOU?” Saga and I said at the same time.

“You’re the real culprit over here.” I said.

“Who’s the closest to him here?” Saga asked.

None of us can answer Saga question. None of us in the band was very close to Tora like Shou and Hiroto, till we thought they’re couple.

“Mah, I’ll talk to him, as the leader of alice nine..” I said proudly. “Ouch!”

Saga hit hardly on my head, “A pathetic one.”

TORA

Am I too harsh on Minami just now? As a gentleman, I should at least send her a message to apologize.

[About the guitar, forget bout it. I don’t really need a new one, especially when it’s you’re the one who will pay for it.]

Minami did not reply me in instant. After an hour,

[I can feel you’re sincerity, you think I can’t find you the same guitar right!!]

[What the, I did not think like that at all. I’m just telling you that you can forget about it.]

[Yea, especially when I’m the one who will pay for the guitar. You obviously thought that I can’t afford it!]

[I’m a mature man. I don’t want to waste my time arguing with a little girl.]

[Well, you are arguing with me now!]

[Whatever you said, kid.]

[Kid!? I’ll get a brand new one for you! You just wait! Mature man!]

She’s one hotheaded. She’s even worst than Hiroto. Seriously, I wondered why did the others like her so much. From any perspective –physical, emotion, mental, she’s just a teenager. Men like us, turning 30 soon, are not suitable for those girls, what in the world they are thinking about!?

The next morning, I went to the studio to check on my broken guitar. The broken pieces were put in a paper bag next to the backdoor. I took out all the pieces one by one and put them back into a piece. I saw some dried blood stained on the strings. It’s Minami’s blood. I let out a loud sigh.

“Regretted now?” Saga said. I guess my sigh was a little loud.

“No.” I denied.

“She did not even drop a tear when she bleeds.” Saga said.

“So?”

“But she shed into tears immediately, after you scolded her.”

“Why are you telling me this?”

“You’re a wise man.”

“I don’t perform magic.”

“Don’t try to play words with me.”

Saga walked away. I stared at the guitar for a few minutes and went back to the jamming room.

Nao was busy playing with his PSP, Shou stoned over a side and Hiroto kept poking Shou. Saga was sitting on the recliner and gave me an unpleasant stare. All of them were trying to ignore my existence in the room.

“How old are you now!?” I could not control my anger anymore, “Trying to ignore me, like a child fight. I stopped doing this when I was 10.” I yelled loudly at them, but none of them give me a reply.

I sat down a side and glanced over them. The atmosphere was cold and silent.

“I apologized to her yesterday.” I finally said out.

“Telling the truth?” Nao asked.

“Do I look like I’m lying over here?”

“What did she said?” Shou asked.

“She just argued back.”

“Why would she?” Shou continued asking.

“I don’t know. She’s worst than Hiroto.”

“WHAT? ME?!” Hiroto shouted.

Shou stood up from where he sat and came near me. He reached his hand in my pocket and tried to take my cellphone out. I stopped Shou and pushed him hardly away.

“Are you crazy Shou!?” I yelled at him.

“I want to see what you sent to her.”

“Like what I’ve said, I apologized to her. You’re like bitch now. I’m off here.” I shouted furiously at all of them.

Once again, I left that building in an angry condition. After Minami appeared, my life would never be any better.

SHOU

I sat back down, watching Tora leaving the room. Hiroto was back to disturb me again. “Hiroto, you can stop poking me now.” I gave a stare on Hiroto. “Sorry, I was bored.” he said and jogged away to get his skateboard. “Saga, did Minami email you?” I asked him. “No. Why would she?” Saga replied “Basically, you do not need to worry over anything about Minami. I’m sure she’ll be fine.” Saga tried to coax me. “Hiroto, would you stop fooling around!” Saga shouted at him as he was annoyed by Hiroto skateboarding around the quiet room.

I kept looking at my cellphone, waiting for Minami’s mail. I did send a mail to Minami during the midnight, and now it’s going to be 12 afternoon but she still did not reply me.

“Leaving now. I can’t write and compose anything.” I said to the others.

I started my engine. On the way, I turned to the other junction and drove to Minami’s house.

I pressed on the door bell. I pressed for the second time, and then the third, only Minami opened up.

“Shou.” she said softly. Minami looked tired.

“Minami, are you fine?” I asked her and held her by her shoulders, for she looked like she’s going to fall off. “I’m fine. I just got not enough sleep.” she said. She was still on yesterday’s clothes and the dried brown blood was still on her chest. “Come in.” Minami said and walked into the living room slowly.

Suddenly Minami blackout and fell on the floor with a loud thud. I ran to her and held her to the couch. I placed my palm on her forehead. It’s hot. She’s having fever, probably because of crying her lung out the whole night, and the infections of her bruise.

I went to get two damp towels and a pail of water and the aid kit. Putting a towel on her forehead, I started to treat her injured. My work was distracted by Minami’s cleavage. I can’t stop staring at her cleavage and dirty thoughts started to flow into my mind. Shou! She’s sick and she needs you! It’s not right to get advantages for yourself now! But I wanted to touch her. Just for once, that’s my only desire now. I slowly leaned toward Minami and pecked on her tender lips. I felt her heat. I lifted my head and looked at Minami. I gave myself a good slap and continue washing her bruise.

“Shou. Shou.”

“Huh?” I didn’t realize I fell asleep.

“Thanks.” Minami said with a big smile.

“Why?” I was still in the sleepy state.

“For everything you’ve done just now.” she replied.

“Oh. You’re welcome.” I realized I did not clean up the pail and towels, because I fell asleep.

“So did you feel better now?”

“Yea, I did, but I’m still a little tired.”

“How could you get a fever suddenly?”

“I don’t know… probably I cried too much and…” Minami voice slower down as she talked.

“I can’t hear what you said.”

“Are you hungry?” Minami asked me politely, trying to skip the topic.

“No.” I bet she did not want to tell me why. “I think I should get going now. It’s late and I promised to bring my sister for shopping.” I said to Minami, which was a total lie.

Message from me: My com broke down, and I couldn't find any free time to repair it till now. Sorry for I couldn't update as soon a possible.

MINAMI

I opened the door and Shou was right in front me. “Shou, why did you come?” I asked in shocked. “I thought you’re going to the studio?” Shou did not reply but looked at me from top to toe repetitively. I forgot I’m in my nightie! I blushed and turned around. “Supposed. I’ll go later.” Shou took off his sneakers and went straight into the living room without looking at me.

I dashed upstairs to change. I slammed my bedroom’s door and lean against the door. My heart throbbed and I felt hot. I simply grabbed a shirt and pants and slipped on.

“Sorry, I just woke up. Don’t worry. I brushed already.” I said shyly. “So what made you come here?” I asked Shou again.

“I was worried about you. You just went off yesterday; I thought something might happen to you.” Shou said softly.

“Oh, that, it’s was nothing important.” I lied. “You came here alone? The others are not coming?” I asked him curiously.

“They were in the studio.”

DING DONG

“Excuse me. I’ll go get the door.”

“Yo, Minami!” Suddenly Nao showed up, followed by Hiroto and Saga behind.

“What the! What are you doing here?” Shou shouted, rushing to the front door from the living room.

“We’re all same like you. Visiting Minami.” Hiroto said ironically.

“Minami, I suddenly remembered you brought us to another place and said that you live there.” Hiroto continued. I pretended not to hear him.

All of them went in ignoring Shou and started making noises and talking loudly.

“Sshh, lower down your voice guys! Don’t let my neighbors know you’re here.” I requested. “Sorry, Minami do you have any food?” Nao went in the kitchen like he the owner of the house instead of me. He opened the fridge “Minami, you only have fruit juice and milk? Banana milk! My fav.” I was speechless enough and did not know how to serve them. Probably they’ll handle themselves, which makes me felt even better because I don’t have to be polite.

“Minami, we haven’t eaten anything. Have any food besides drinks?” Hiroto asked, opening the cupboard in the kitchen and starting digging my things. “Stop guys! It’s rude to open someone’s cupboard in someone’s home. Why did all of you come here? Shou said you all were in the studio” I yelled. All of them immediately glazed at Shou. Shou kept quiet and looked at the opposite direction pretending he heard nothing.

“Fine. I’ll cook for you.” I said. I did not want them to mess up my kitchen. “Chinese food. How’s it?” I offered.

“You know how to cook?” Saga asked.

“Of course, you expected me to order delivery everyday?” I laughed.

“Don’t do anything, don’t mess up my house.” I warned them.

SAGA

Minami’s house was tidy and clean, unlike my room. It’s sort of empty inside and less decorations. I thought girls like overloaded decorations in their house especially with pink and flowers. I saw a weird-looking sculpture and I observed it.

“Guys, look at this sculpture. Looks like Tamori to me.” I joked.

“Looks like Tora’s father.” Nao said.

Hiroto hit on Nao’s head “Stupid, it looks like the president.”

“Would you all sit quietly, respect Minami. This is her house.” Shou said in a very unpleasant way.

“Technically, you’re not related to her.” I replied Shou rudely, walking near him and grabbed him by the collar.

“Don’t start a fight.” Nao cooled us down. “Minami might hear you.”

I throw my body on the couch and waited Minami for 30 minutes.

“Done.” Minami said with a big smile, carrying a large plate of fried rice.

“Finally, we’re starving to death.” Nao ran to Minami and helped her with the plate.

“Smells good. What do you call this?” Hiroto asked as he walked to the dining table.

“Err, “hoi sin chau fan.” Minami answered.

“Huh? What are you talking?” Hiroto asked stupidly.

“It’s Chinese, which means seafood fried rice.”

“You know Chinese?”

Shou was still sitting on the couch showing a sour face. “Sorry Shou.” I apologized to him. It was my fault to say such word to him. “I mean, I know you care for her… and…” I continued. “And what?” Shou asked back. “Urgh, just sorry.” I apologized again. Shou smirked and stood up. He slapped my back hardly, “I’m not that easily offended. I am joking with you.” and walked to the dining table joining the crowd.

All of us sat down and started eating.

“Whao, the best I’ve eaten.” I praised Minami.

“Of course.” She accepted my compliment happily. “My mum is a Chinese.”

It was the first time Minami mentioned about her mother.

“And my dad is a Japanese.” she continued. “They’re in Okinawa, running a small Chinese restaurant. My mum always teaches me how to cook Chinese dishes and hope that I’ll continue to heir that restaurant.”

“Then you should, it was super tasty.” Shou said.

“I don’t want to be inside the kitchen forever.”

“By the way, Minami, that sculpture there was Tamori right?” I asked Minami because I was still curious. She shook her head.

“No?”

“Nope.”

“It’s the president!” Hiroto shouted joyfully.

Minami giggled. “It’s my grandfather. I made this went I was in junior high.” Minami smiled. “I came here when I was 15. He used to tell me many stories, especially bout life. He even promised to go to Tokyo with me. But he passes away due to heart attack. ” She continued with her stories.

I started to understand that Minami been staying alone when she came to Tokyo and she’s an independent girl. She rely everything on herself. Meanwhile, I’m still living with my parents even I’m near 30, but I rarely go home.

All of us went back to the studio in the noon.

“Chiko, sorry for leaving you with the cat.” I stroked on Chiko’s head, patting her softly.

“It’s Tora.” Tora corrected.

“It’s a total waste that you did not tag along Tora.” Nao said to Tora.

“Why?” Tora showed no interest.

“Well, I don’t know. But it’s fun.”

“Desperate for girls.” Tora said to Nao.

“Watch your mouth. You’ve been a bad mood today Tora.”

“Whatever.”

Nao was right. Something seems to be not right with Tora since yesterday. He seems to hate Minami.

SHOU

I still can remember Minami in her nightgown yesterday, without her bra. When I closed my eyes, her appearance appeared in my mind, her smile, her voice. Shou, stop thinking! You’re acting like a pervert.

“We have a photo shooting session tomorrow. Have to go to bed earlier to preserve my beauty skin quality.” Saga said. “Photo shooting? Which magazine?” I asked. “Shoxx, Shou.” Nao answered for Saga. “Oh, I totally forgot about it.” I apologized. “Brainwashed by someone. The day after tomorrow we still have to go to the radio station.” Nao continued. “Then, we have to go to Nagoya for an autograph session.”

“An autograph session? All the way to Nagoya?” I was blurred. “I don’t know, our manager decided this for us.” Nao continue listing out all the events and schedules for the following days.

All these events will take more than a week to finish. I really forgot about everything since all the space in my mind was stored up with Minami. Maybe I should really stopped thinking about her and put alice nine. back as the priority.

“Shou, give more expressions. Look lively!” requested the photographer.

“Sorry.” I must really stop daydreaming and thinking of Minami.

“Shou, you’ve changed.” Hiroto whispered to me. “Tell me what happened. My ears are always ready.”

“I’m fine.”

“You’re hiding something from me.” Hiroto insisted to make me spill. I couldn’t resist when Hiroto begged. I used to tell him all my things and secrets.

“Listen. On the day we went to Minami’s house. I saw.”

“You saw! You did! What did you saw?”

“Her in her nightgown, and, without her bra.”

“That means you can see her nipples!”

I hit Hiroto hard on his head. “Don’t be ridiculous!”

“Well, just a bit.” I blushed.

“Shou, you are one selfish-perverted guy!” Hiroto said loudly suddenly.

“Lower down you voice idiot. As if you won’t feel the same if you see it.”

“I preferred magazines and videos.” he winked. “You did not lay you hand on her, anywhere?”

“I’m a civilized person.”

“What are you guys talking there? It’s your turn Hiroto.” Tora said loudly, stretching his arm after the posing much for the shoot.

Tora sat down next to me and lit his cigarette.

“Shou, stop missing her.” he suddenly said.

“I’m not.” I denied.

All of us were back in our jamming studio after the Nagoya.

“Shou, since we’re back, call Minami out. I miss her~” Nao suggested.

“You sure you want it? What about the others?” I looked at the rest of them.

“I’m ok with it.” agreed Hiroto and Saga at the same time. Tora did not give in any reply but I did not care much about him.

“Done. I’ve messaged her. She’ll come the day after tomorrow.” I said to all of them. “I got to go home now.” I left the studio and went home.

MINAMI

They’re back from Nagoya and asked me to go to their studio again. I sat in the living and scanned the paper. “No, thank you.” I rejected Saga. He just laughed loudly and walked away, probably felt sad inside his heart.

“Tora is not here yet?” I asked Shou.

“He’ll be a little late.” Shou answered.

“Whoa, this is your identity card? Gwad! You seriously looked like a serious nerd!” suddenly Hiroto took out a card from my purse.

“HIROTO! Give me back!” I yelled at Hiroto and started chasing him around the room.

“NAO! Record it! Record Minami’s expression!” Hiroto shouted to Nao.

“Roger!” Nao took out his phone and started to record.

“Don’t you record it Nao! I’m gonna slice you into mutton if you did!” I changed my target and rushed toward to Nao.

Suddenly I tripped and fell on something hard.
”OUCH! My chest hurt!” Shou quickly came over to me and held me up.

“Minami, you’re chest… you got a bruise there, it’s still bleeding.” Shou said panicly. I was glad; I can really feel that Shou was worried of me.

“Are you alright? I’ll take some iodine and plasters for you.” Shou said.

“Err, Shou, before you take care of Minami’s bruise, I think there’s something even important for us to handle.” Saga said as he was pointing a broken guitar.

“Fuck. Why was this here!?” Shou said tremendously.

“I don’t know. Tora is going to kill us or maybe her.” Saga said.

“What? Me?” I was confused with Saga’s word. “Why Tora would kill me? Is that his precious guitar?” I asked. “I could buy another new one for him.”

“No, I afraid you can’t. It’s a custom made guitar, specially designed by hide long time ago. ESP gave him for his birthday. And that guitar, it’s like one in a million.” Saga replied.

“Correction, 5 in a million, in the whole universe.” Nao corrected Saga.

“And the price, oof… around 50,000,000 yen.It’s something like…antique.” Nao hit his own chest.

Hiroto just remain quiet, meanwhile Shou kept staring at my chest.

“WHAT! That’s crazy! They used gold and diamond for the guitar?!” I answered furiously.

“STOP! Right now we should think of something to help Minami. If Tora saw this, he’ll kill her.” Shou said. Shou only made the situation tenser.

“It’s my fault for chasing around. I’ll apologize to him.” I said to all of them. “It’s my fault.”

“Hundreds of sorry is useless.” Tora suddenly said angrily. He was standing at the door, looking really angry. My heart throbbed. His look was really freaking me out. Tora, why don’t you wear you sunglasses when I want you to, at least I couldn’t see your eyes!

“Tora, we can explain.” Hiroto went over to Tora and tried to cool him down.

Tora pushed Hiroto away and came near me.

“Get out of here.” he demanded.

“I’m really sorry about it Tora.” I apologized.

“I always hate you to come over here. This place is for alice nine..” he said angrily.

“Sorry.”

“For us, alice nine.! Who are you in alice nine.? Since they like you so much, I only keep my mouth shut and pretended I welcomed you too.” he continued. “This is not a place for you to flirt around. Seriously, sometimes you are really bothersome.”

What does he mean by this? He pretended to welcomed me? He hated me all this time? I’m irritating? I couldn’t control my feeling. I burst into tears and ran away from the room.

“MINAMI!” I ignored Shou when he called my name out. I was too embarrassed to stay in the room.

Hiroto gave a blur stare at Shou. “I thought she supposed to be here and meet everyone?”

“She left.” I answered Hiroto.

“Ask Shou, he’s one who planned everything.” Hiroto pointed at Shou.

“Hiroto, you such a bastard.” Shou yelled at Hiroto.

“Fine, she’s actually Minami.” Hiroto explained. “Shou met her in the park. He introduced her to me. We went out together for drinks. But, she don’t know who we were and don’t know that we knew that she’s Minami. Shou planned on telling everyone about her since we both like her, I mean Shou like her and he thinks that she might give us some inspirations.”

“Inspirations?” Shou said confusedly.

“Shut up. So, case closed.” Hiroto ended his explanations.

“So the one who banged on me might be her?” Nao doubted.

“Most probably. But Hiroto, you’re tongue, ya, problem. Shou said her name was Mizuki.” Saga tried to correct Hiroto.

Hiroto slapped his hand on his forehead. “She created another identity so that she wouldn’t be disclosed, sexy.”

The quiet I finally got something to ask Hiroto “Then who is Minami?”

“Another one who doesn’t read the paper.” Hiroto complained. He went to the rest room followed by everyone. He searched the cupboard. “There, read it yourself.” and handed me a newspaper.

Shou suddenly grabbed the newspaper away from my hand. “It is not necessary that you must show them the news. She’s an actress, and a J-pop singer.” Shou obviously tried to hide something about her. I hate it when one of us in the band kept secret from us. “Shou, all of us vowed that there’s no secret between all of us. Unless you’re not one of us.” I stated. “Even you don’t let us read it; we can check it on the net. Stop acting like a girl Shou.” Nao suddenly raised his voice. I bet Nao was thrilled to know about the Minami, actually me too. Nao snatched the paper and read it out loud.

“HOLY SHIT!” Nao jaws dropped.

“She’s one cool chick.” Saga said.

Nao’s ability to speak was stopped up. I gaped at Shou and Hiroto.

MINAMI

That was close. I should have set the reminder in my phone. I always hate menstrual because every time I’ll get menstrual pain! Medicine, I need the pain killer…..

I didn’t know I slept for a few hours. Finally the pain was gone. It’s late at night now. There’s an email from Shou.

[Mizuki, you’re not angry aren’t you?]

[Don’t be silly. I’m won’t. I felt unwell. That’s why I left first. Sorry bout that.]

Shou did not reply me after that. I can’t imagine Shou thought that I’m angry, could that be the tall guy passed the message wrongly? Talking about that guitarist, I had never seen people with such scary look, but he is kinda cool. MINAMI! STOP thinking about guys. NO MORE mistakes! I slapped my face a few times and went down to hunt for food.

Time past so fast when you’re sleeping, crap. As usual, I brushed and cooked for myself. My life was really boring! I emailed Shou and Hiroto, but both of them never replied. Are they busy? Come to think of it, what job were they doing? They played music? They seems to be like one, but I never see their look anywhere before.

Today’s today will end in 3, 2, 1 COUNTDOWN! Damn, I really need to find something more benefits to do. Tomorrow’s today just started. Night. I did that occasionally.

Shou and Hiroto still did not reply my email. Tomorrow is the date that I will go to their studio again. They made me felt worried. I scanned over today’s newspaper. Wait a second, aren’t these Shou and Hiroto, and the tall guitarist? Who’re Saga and Nao? They looked familiar. I examined the picture over and over again. I’m certain that these three guys were Shou, Hiroto and the guitarist, his name is Tora. alice nine.? They had a new release last week? Charted on Oricon Chart at the top 3 for a week? I turned on the television and they’re playing alice nine.’s latest promotional video. That was definitely Shou! I recognized his rabbit teeth! And Hiroto, as short as he was. Tora, the scary guy! What in the world was going on here!

I didn’t get a good sleep yesterday night. I’m nervous and confused for today.

I slide the door open and stepped in, taking a deep breath. I did not tell Shou what time I’m going there, needless to say I came. As I walked to the studio room, my heart beat faster than as usual. I heard a few people laughing. I took a deep breath again and stood at the door.

“WHAO!” Hiroto accidentally snapped broke his guitar string due to shocked.

“Mizuki, shouldn’t you mail me first before you come.”

“Nao, you didn’t lock the door?” Tora said.

“Ah, I forgot. My hand was full with food.”

Obviously, all this kind of situation will get silent, but, not this time.

“Minami.” Tora called out suddenly.

“Yes?” Idiot! I shouldn’t react to him. Wait, that means…

“You knew it?” I looked at Shou.

Shou nodded.

“Since when?”

“Since the day he met you.” Hiroto interrupted.

“Ah, it’s bad to hide you identity from a friend.” Nao said as he was walking near to me. Nao and Saga, I remembered them. They were the one I bumped on. Saga stood up and walked next to me.

“Don’t worry, we’re not blaming you.” Saga patted on my shoulder.

“In fact, we’re sorry too. We hid something from you too.” Shou apologized.

“It’s you and Hiroto.” Tora pointed out.

“I know, you’re guys are alice nine..” I said tensely.

Silent appeared. Suddenly all of us giggled and turned into a big laugh.

“I’m really sorry.” I apologized to all of them. “I didn’t mean to.”

“We understand.” Hiroto said.

“Now everything was cleared.” Shou said with a big relief.

“So it’s needless to introduce Tora, Nao and Saga.” Shou continued.

“By the way, when did you know we are alice nine.?” Saga asked.

“I knew it yesterday.”

Everyone was staring at me.

“You’re serious? Just yesterday?” said Tora.

“Yes, I saw your video in a show yesterday.”

I felt more relaxed now when they started to talk and chat with me. They were funny. They really did not blame on me for hiding my identity but accepted me as a friend as well. Furthermore, they did not mention about my scandalous life.

Nao was really nice; he loves food, especially Starbucks. He can memorize the entire menu. His attitude resembles a kid. Saga, he’s like a model. I felt embarrassed to stand beside him. He’s so sexy and his eyes we so captivating. Whereas, Tora was really cool, and cold till I had a little trouble to communicate with him.

My phone rang.

“MINAMI!”

“Masato? I’m not deaf.”

“Where are you?”

At least come home for dinner twice a week.” she continued. “Mum, I’m busy.” I replied her. “When you come home, you only bring Chiko for a walk, I afraid I might not live long to see you, son.” I felt bad and guilty when she said so, but staying in the studio was really relaxing. “Don’t be silly mum, you will live till 100.” I comforted her. “At least, find a girlfriend and get marry soon. I was hoping long enough for a grandchild.” The woman continued “Chiko might still have a chance to get pregnant and get you 6 grandchildren” I joked and jogged away with Chiko.

“A girlfriend? If I get one, I afraid I’ll neglect her because of alice nine..” I said to Chiko. Chiko just sniffed the path and ignored me. “Moreover, I’m not in the mood to fall in love. Chiko~ at least give me some reactions.” Chiko was still sniffing the pavement. All of sudden, Minami image popped up in my mind. “Minami…” I stopped in the middle of the walk. “Chiko, do you think I like her? Since yesterday, I kept thinking of her… OOI CHIKO! Don’t pee on my boots!” WOOF!

NAO

I was lying on my bed looking up at the ceiling. My body was too heavy to wake up furthermore I don’t want to be the first to be in the studio. Piii Got to feed Sagandammu. Ah, he’s faraway from my bed. In the end, I still have to wake up.

“Osh, Saga, you’re here, with Chiko. Did she bite my drumstick?” Saga was there early today. He was ready with his bass and started to compose.

“Chiko slept besides me all the while.” Saga replied.

“The others haven’t reached here yet?”

“Yeah, might be here soon. Err, Nao, do you think Minami will come over today?”

“You miss her?” I chuckled.

“No, I scared that she’ll give me trouble if she comes.”

“What trouble can she gives. The only trouble is you’ll stare at her the whole day instead of your bass.”

“Whatever.” Saga was pissed.

“Saga, do you actually mind about her news?”

“They’re late.” Saga said.

“Sorry, my toilet clogged.” Tora said as he barged in the room. “I have to change into a brighter bulb before I unclogged the bowl.”

“Unclog you bowel instead.” Saga said dispassionately.

“Very funny, where are Shou and Hiroto?” Tora asked.

“How would I know where are they, call them.” I answered.

“Do you think both of them went to Minami’s?”

“Minami’s what?”

“House, since she gave us her number and address yesterday.”

“They would tell me if they did.” said Saga, stroking Chiko’s head.

“When both of them were together, they won’t.” Tora smirked.

All of us gave each other an eye contact.

“Call them!”

Saga quickly took his cellphone out. Tora and I attached our ear near Saga’s phone.

“Hiroto, are you coming to the studio today?” Saga asked.

“I’m in the studio already.” We can hear the voice came from besides. Hiroto was standing behind us.

“You’re here. What about Shou? He’s not with you?” Saga asked intentionally.

“I don’t know.”

“Call him!” I commanded. Saga dialed Shou’s number this time.

“Shou, where are you?”

“I… Sorry, I will be late today.”

“I’m asking where you are.”

“I’ll tell you later.”

“DON’T HANG UP!” Saga shouted on the phone. “Where did you go?”

“Minami’s place.”

“What? Say louder Shou, I can’t hear you.”

“MINAMI’S HOUSE!”

Saga immediately hung up and looked at us.

“He said he is going to her house.”

“We heard that. Damn him, he’s not serious right?” I said.

“Oh well, just let him go.” Tora said, holding his guitar and sat on the recliner.

“Tora, you were pushing me away from the phone just now, to get yourself a clearer hearing and now you pretended that you don’t care.” Hiroto said.

I pretended to ignore about Shou going to Minami, so was everyone. All of them did their own things, for not more than 15 minutes, Saga suddenly stood up “I’m going to Minami’s too. What if Shou get all the goods for himself.”

“Yeah, and did not invite us to come with!” agreed Hiroto.

“Come on, don’t be such a busybody.” Tora said.

“You can choose to stay, and take care of Chiko. We’re leaving.” Saga said sarcastically. “I’ll go with you.” I said to Saga and Hiroto.

“Tora, you sure you’re not coming?” I asked him.

“No, I’ll be fine.” He answered quietly.

All of us left him with Chiko.

“Moron.” Tora mumbled.

“LATE-NIGHT DELIVERY!” I shouted outside an unknown door.

I purposely led them here. I did not want to let them know where I stayed. I have a feeling that the shorty was trying to hoodwink me to expose my identity.

A fat-middle-age woman opened the door and yelled at me. She slammed the door at me. I peeked behind and felt relief because Shou already left. “SORRY! WRONG HOUSE!” Seriously, where is this place? Where’s my house? I’m feeling cold!

Everything was going well in the period between these two weeks time. Shou had been emailing me and chat with me. Sometimes Hiroto mailed me too. Hiroto did not question me like that night anymore. Instead, he’s even friendlier and safe to be with. I was glad that I’m getting along with them. We went out for some drinks a few times. Sometimes, they did not reply me at all. But the good thing was they still did not figure out who I am.

I called Masato to chat but he was really busy. I missed the time when I was acting and recording in the studio. I miss the time when everyone was sharing their jokes and laughing happily with him. I miss the moment where we sang karaoke together till late night. I can’t stop blaming myself for the mistakes. Maybe this was a punishment from the god, but for what?

SHOU

“Hey, Hiroto, Come with me.” I whispered to Hiroto when the other members weren’t paying attention.

“What happened?”

“I invited Minami… to our personal jamming studio.”

“WHAT!? You invited her? What for!? I thought this place is only for us.” Hiroto said furiously.

“Calm down. I thought you’re fine with her now.”

“I am, but the other members still don’t know about the existence of Minami in our life!”

“I know. That is why I invited her here and planned to introduce her in advance.”

“Then she’ll know who we are!”

“Is there any problem with that?” I accidentally slipped that sentence in a rude tone.

“Shou, don’t get too over.”

“I mean, she’s an artist, so are we. It’s not like she will tell the media bout us and her right?”

“But then, she’s hiding her identity from us. We knew her for weeks but she never say anything. It’s not fair.”

“Be mature Hiroto. We didn’t tell her about us too. If we don’t confess, she won’t, and then who will? It must be someone to tell the truth first.”

Hiroto don’t sound happy or angry with my decisions. What I am hoping for now was the other members won’t get over reacted with it or Minami.

MINAMI

Shou invited me to his jamming studio today. Honestly, I knew them for weeks but I never ask them about their career. Maybe it is because I afraid that they’ll ask me in return about my career.

The weather was turning hot and hotter. Mr. Summer was working very hard. My sweat smeared my make-up. I went in a cab and showed the driver the address Shou gave. I got down in front of a deserted shop house. There’s graffiti on the wall and scribbled words. I was surprised that Shou and Hiroto would come to this kind of places and I would never think they played instruments before.

“Shou, this Mizuki. I’m standing outside your jamming studio.” I phoned Shou.

“Ah, you’re here. Wait for me; I’m getting the door open now.”

The door slide open.

“Hi Shou. Thanks for inviting me here.” We went into a room.

“No problem. You want some coffee?” Shou offered.

“Sure.”

“You can wait here. Just a few minutes, I’ll go get your coffee.” Shou said with a smile and walked away. The light in the room was dimmed but I can see clearly for something. This is amazing! Guitars, drum-kit, bass! I never had seen or touch them for real in my life. Pathetic right? I can’t stop screaming in my heart. I kept squealing while observing the instruments. Man, I wanted to play, even touch, those for a very long time.

“What are you doing here?” A man with deep voice came from behind. I leaped up from shock and looked behind. There stood a tall man with sunglasses. He’s taller than Shou. Could he be one of Shou’s band mates?

“I’m sorry.”

“How did you come in here? This is not a place for visiting or entered by strangers.”

“I’m sorry, but Shou invited me here.”

“He did?”

“Yes.”

“I don’t think it’s alright for you to stay here. But since you said Shou invited you in, we’ll wait for him. Where’s Shou?”

“He went to get me a coffee.”

We stayed silent for a few minutes. What’s taking Shou so long to make a cup of coffee?

“So, you’re Shou’s………………?”

“Friend?”

“Yes, friend. His friend. Am I right?” Seriously, I don’t know what to say to him. His appearance was scary. He took off his sunglasses and his eyes were freaking fierce plus the dimmed room even made him look scarier, probably looked like a dracula.

“You seriously don’t know who I am? I’m the guitarist.”

“Oh, nice to meet you. I’m Mizuki.” I was praying for he can’t recognize that I am actually Minami.

“Yea, nice to meet you.” he replied. He walked toward the recliner and sat down. Shouldn’t he introduce his name!? “You’re the guitarist? Cool. That means you can play guitar?” Why am I asking stupid question. The man gave me a fake smile. “Err well, I love guitars and drums, but I never touch them before.” I continued. I don’t think this was something proud to boast with. The man just smile and said the same thing which was “Ha ha. Right…” whenever I said something.

Suddenly I felt something leaking out my vagina. Oh fuck! I forgot about my menstrual! I forgot to bring a pad along! It takes 20 minutes to reach here, that means… I should go home now!

“Err… the guitarist? Tell Shou I’m in emergency state and had to leave now. Save the Africa’s coffee for me next time.”

I quickly left the studio and rushed back.

“OUCH!” I banged on someone and fell back on the road.

“Hey, watch out lady.”

“I’m sorry! Really sorry!”

“We’re fine.” said the first guy.

“NO! I’m not fine here! She spilled my frappucino on my clothes!” the guy next to him cried.

“I’m really sorry.” I apologized again. “I’ll buy you a new one next time and wash the clothes for you.”

I quickly ran away from them.

TORA

“Sorry, Mizuki. The coffee finished.” Suddenly Shou barged in.

“Tora, you saw a girl here just now?” Shou asked me. He’s holding a packet drink.

“You mean Mizuki?”

“So you guys knew each other already. So where is she?”

“Not really. She left. She asked me to do a favor.”

“What?”

“Save the Africa’s coffee for the next time. I think she’s angry, since you took such a long time to make a cup of coffee.”

“We’re out of coffee. I’m searching whether we have the extras or not. She’s not that sensitive, getting angry because I made her wait.”

“Tell Shou I’m in an emergency state and had to go home now. Save the Africa’s coffee for next time.” I imitated how Mizuki said.

Shou gave me no reaction and sat down at a side.

“Would you stop complaining Nao? That stain can be wash away. Besides, she did not do it on purpose.” Saga said as he walked in to the room with Nao.

“Whoa, what in the world that stain was? You peed?” I joked.

“Tora, quit it before he continue complaining about his precious clothes.” Saga replied.

“Not the clothes, my frappucino! It’s a new on menu yesterday and I longed to try it.”

All of us ignore what Nao said.

“Saga, what happened?” Shou seems to be concerned about Nao.

“A girl knocked on us and HIS favorite spilled.” Saga said, pointing at Nao.

“Who girl? How does she look like?”

“Pretty? Sexy? Probably taller than Hiroto.” Nao interrupted.

“Did she say anything?” Obviously Shou wasn’t concerned about Nao but Mizuki.

“Shou, you’re acting weird.” I said. “Guys, Shou has a girlfriend.”

“Really?”

“You’re serious?”

“No way! I thought you’re with Hiroto!” Nao blurted a lame joke again.

Saga giggled meanwhile Shou ignored Nao.

“She’s a friend.”

“I believe that if she’s just a friend, you wouldn’t have invited her here. Shou, we promised that we wouldn’t let anyone even Manager-san here. It’s out personal jamming studio. So, she’s not just a friend.” I talked like I am lecturing Shou.

“You brought a girl here?”

“What’s her name?”

“Mizuki.”

“Do you have any idea what are you doing Shou? She might disclose us!”

“Don’t straight away jump to the conclusion. Where is Hiroto?” Shou asked.

“Don’t try to change the topic.”

“I’m not. Wait for Hiroto to be here first. We’ll explain to you.”

“Hiroto knew her too?”

All of us kept quiet while waiting for Hiroto to come. Shou was very impatient and worried of Mizuki. Mizuki, somehow I felt she will bring some troubles to the band. I never had seen Shou being so unease.

“Sorry, I’m late. I forgot to bring my wallet on the way. Why everyone looked so down?” Finally Hiroto was here.

“Who’s Mizuki?” Nao asked Hiroto directly.

Jeez, what in the world was Shou thinking of. Being the closest band-mate to him in alice nine., I was really worried about him. My first thought of him was he definitely like Minami. She’s hot, yes. I watched her drama, she acted well. I heard her songs, not bad. I read about her, that was way…..too cool? Or maybe contemptible?

“Hiroto, tell us what had actually happened to Shou.” Nao asked suddenly.

This was really a hard decision. Shou asked me not to tell anyone. I respect him but I respect the others too. This time I’m the one who’s in dilemma!

“I’m sorry. But Shou asked me not to tell anyone first. Let’s respect his decision okay? He will tell you guys later, I guess.” I told Nao and others. All of them gave a very disappointed look. The atmosphere in the studio was cold like Siberia. Me, the hyper active Hiroto was also feeling down.

I stood up from where I sat “I’m going out.” “To where?” Saga asked. “I don’t know. A short walk.” My actually plan was to find Shou and talked to him about Minami. I was really afraid that she would create some news this time concerning us and her and causes our reputation drop.

“Hello, Shou. Where are you? It’s noisy!”

“Ah, Hiroto. Walking around Akihabara. Going home soon or maybe getting a drink.”

“Alone?”

“Yes, you think I’m with Minami?” Shou suddenly said it with a rough tone.

“What the hell are you talking about Shou!?”

“You probably thought that I went to find her. I knew you did.” he continued furiously.

Shou seems to be drunk more than walking around in Akihabara.

“Shou, where are you? You’re drunk aren’t you?”

“No, I’m just a little…… drunk. In Akihabara, entering the maid café.”

“ARE YOU CRAZY! WHICH MAID CAFÉ? Don’t you ever step in there in a drunken mood! OOI! SHOU!”

He just hung on me. Remember remember remember Hiroto! I remembered he told me he wanted to try one maid café he saw. Wait, is that Nao or Shou? I stopped a taxi and went to Akihabara. Damn, that place was crowded. I had trouble finding Shou now. I couldn’t ask other members for help.

I scuttled around Akihabara for half an hour but still no sight of Shou. I rang Shou again. He didn’t pick up for the first call. Then the second,

“Shou? Where are you now?”

“Home.”

“You’re serious? I’m dead tired searching for you around.”

“I told you I’m not angry.”

“Why didn’t you pick up just now?”

“I was in the shower.”

“I thought you said you want to go into a maid café?”

“I did? I can’t recall anything. Maybe you called the wrong Shou.”

“Oh, I’ll see you tomorrow.” I ended the call and went home.

SHOU

It’s bright. It’s morning already. I don’t want to wake up. I lied down on my bed and hid my head under the pillow.

“Hello? Shou? I’m outside your house. Open the door.” Hiroto called from outside.

I stuck my head out at the window behind my bed and saw Hiroto standing outside, waving like a kid. I went down and open the gate for him. My families were all out.

“Why didn’t you call my cellphone?” I said to Hiroto.

“I can’t.”

I checked my cellphone. “Out-of-batt. What about my house number? You have it right?”

“No one pick it up.”

“Oh, I think I put it in a silent mode.”

Hiroto sat up straight and crossed his leg on my bed. I looked at him with a sleepy face.“I haven’t brush my teeth.” I tried to say something to break the silent.

“I can smell it from here. Whatever. I thought about it. Maybe you can ask her out again.”

“I thought you asked me not too.”

“Well, actually I want to know her.”

I looked at Hiroto giving him, doesn’t know what reactions I should give him.

“Ok. Let’s just go straight forward to the point. Seriously, I had not seen you in such condition for a very long time. So I guess she might really be set up and not someone who will sleep with any guys. Maybe...”

“Maybe what? I asked.

“Maybe you, we...” Hiroto continued talking meanwhile his finger was pointing to himself and me. “We can date her out tonight and check her out.”

“Check her out!?”

“I mean comprehe…understand her…”

“I know what you mean, but won’t that be too hurried?”

“No, no... It’s not hurry.”

“I will mail her later. Thanks. For being considering”

“No prob. Hey, we friends. Who will help you out besides me? We’re partners, right? And I’m worried bout you.”

“I thought your partner is Tora. Sounds gay.”

“I’m going to strangle you if you say more. Got go to. To the studio. Works.” Hiroto said and he left my house. “By the way, I think you should tell the others bout it. All of them were worried of you. If not, the leader will feel that his useless.” Hiroto said.

“Get out now. Bye.” I slammed the door hard when Hiroto just stepped out. “FUCK YOU!” He shouted from outside. I smirked.

MINAMI

“Masato I’m bored.”

“I’m busy.”

“Why? We’re in holidays now.”

“Funny. I’m in Fukuoka.”

“Why there? You went for the onsen!”

“Stupid, I’m there for you. You’re subsiding, Minami. I need to get a few contracts first.”

“But I don’t know when I can start back.”

“You may not develop more into the singing but maybe acting. Just leave everything to me. I’m the professional manager! Trust me and back to your holiday.”

“I’m so touched!”

“Bye.” Masato just gave me a cold reply.

I totally forgot Shou’s appearance. The only thing I remembered was he’s attractive. I squeezed my pillow on my chest and rolled on the bed. In fact, that’s a very good way to waste my time.

After rolling a while, I felt bored. I took my cellphone, wanted to message Shou. Shou Shou Shou… I ranted as I’m finding his contact in my list. Then only I realized I didn’t ask for his email! I was downed and regretted for not asking his email. Hope that he will email me now.

GOD I LOVE YOU! At least I won’t bored to death.

After putting on a light make-up, the clock was showing 8.30. I quickly run out and got a cab. Oshiri Pub? What a name.

“Pass card please.” A tall muscular man stopped me when I entered the entrance.

“What? You need a pass card?”

“Yes, only members are allowed.” the tall guy said with a strong tone.

“I was invited here by Shou.”

“Proofs please?”

“Proofs? You need a proof? Fine.” I showed him the message that Shou sent to me this afternoon. He can choose not to believe me but he let me in right after he read the message.

Honestly, I don’t like all this place. It looked crowded and half of the people here were wearing heavy make-up, some was normal enough. Their make ups freaked me out for a moment. I ended up calling Shou because I can’t see him anywhere.

“Where are you?” I shouted on the phone. The place was really noisy and filled with the smell of cigarette. “I’m not sure whether I went into the wrong pub.” I continued shouting. “Shou? Can you hear me? HELLO?”

Suddenly someone tapped on my shoulder. It was Shou and there’s a shorty standing next to him.

“Hey, Mizuki. Follow me.” Shou said. I tagged behind him, squeezing through the crowd, followed up by his friend. We entered a room. I started to feel uneasy and worried. Why did he brought me to this room. The music and blast was lower as we entered the room.

“This is Hiroto. He’s my partner.” Shou introduced his friend to me as we sat down.

“I’m Mizuki.” I introduced. Shou and Hiroto was eye contacting each other like they have something fishy.

“We were afraid that you won’t come tonight.”

“I’m dead bored at home. Of course I will! I’m those who can’t reject someone’s invitation.”

“Since today is Tuesday, you might afraid getting tired and can’t get up early for your work.” Hiroto said. Suddenly Shou punched Hiroto at his thigh. Are they gay?

“Don’t worry. It’s holiday now for me.” I could not tell them the truth that I was stopped for a few months and their actions were really freaking me out. “You know what, I never been to this pub before.” I continued.

“You didn’t? How old are you?” Hiroto asked.

“Turning 19 in two month time.” I replied.

“What did you work as?”

“Err… sales girl. Selling cosmetic.” I lied.

During the whole night, Hiroto was the one who kept asking me questions and lots of things like I’m being detained by police. Shou kept giving weird reactions to Hiroto and Hiroto just ignored him.

Sooner, my point of view to the two changed. They were funny and jokes a lot the whole night. Spending time with them was fun. I think that they still did not know about my true identity. They did not mention anything about Minami. Eventually, I felt safe to be with them. They gave me a very comfortable feeling like a family.

Talking about my family, I did not call my parents ever since that incident. I was too shameful to call them. I think they were embarrassed enough in Okinawa. I spaced out. A drop of tear falls on my arm.

“Mizuki? Are you alright?” Shou realized I was sobbing.

“I’m okay.” Damn. I got to control my tears. “I’m tired. I think I better go home now.”

I stood up and wanted to leave the place immediately.

“We’ll escort you home.” Shou said anxiously.

“NO! I mean no thank you. I can go home myself.”

“But it is 12 midnight now. You drove here?” Shou asked.

“Yea, even if you drove here. We’ll still escort you home. It’s really dangerous for a girl driving alone in the midnight.”

They sound as if I’m a little girl but I am feeling a little happy because they cared for me.

“I took cab here.”

“Good. Shou can give you a lift.” Hiroto said cheerfully.

HIROTO

“Mi…zuki.” I nearly called out Minami. “You’re staying around here? I heard that the land here is expensive.”

“Mizuki, which street? You turn from here?” Shou asked.

There’s no reply from her. Both of us looked behind the backseat.

“Shou, look at the front.” I commanded him. He gave me a frown.

“She’s asleep.”

“She must have worn-out.”

“So? Wake her up!” I said as I was using my hand pushing her face to wake her up.

“Calm down! She’ll wake up later. Just let her rest.”

“Shou, do you really like her?

“I did not say I like her.”

“Then why are you helping and covering for her every time?”

“I didn’t. Lower down your voice, Hiroto”

“Whatever, I’m waking her up. I want to go home.”

“I’ll drive you back first.” Shou suggested.

“No.” I disagreed with him.

I woke her up and she’s kept apologized that she fell asleep. Minami continue giving directions into her place. We finally stopped at a place.

“Are you sure you’re staying here?” Shou asked this time.

“Yea, why not?” Minami answered.

I was a bit shock looking at the place. Old apartment with creaking stairs and cockroaches crawling around. I think she purposely lead us to the wrong way.

“Thanks for the ride.” Minami got down and waved to us.

We watched her going up the second floor and someone opened the door for her.

Shou drove away after that. Both of us were puzzled.

“You think she’s Minami?” Shou asked me.

“I’m certainly sure. She can lie very well and good in creating stories.”

“She’s trying to protect herself.” Shou was defending for her again.

“She was dumb enough that she didn’t realize we see through her real identity.” I said. “And stupid enough for not knowing who we are.” I continued.

“She’s ingenuous.”

“You’re right. She looked innocent. I don’t think the tears are faked.”

“You actually think that they were faked?” he raised his voice.

“At first, but not now. Shou, I’m getting to understand why you’re defending for her.”

“You do? Why so sudden?”

I did not reply Shou. After some considerations of her problems, trying to think like her, I started to understand why she told all the lies. Sometimes human need to tell some lies to live on.

“I WAS KIND ENOUGH to let her in this industry!”

“Well, she did get a great success.”

“Don’t interrupt! And look what have she done! Trying to create a legend or history in Japan’s Music History list!? She thinks that she’s Spears? UEHARA MINAMI. TOP & HOT NEWS! BIG HEADING IN THE PAPER!”

“I’m seriously sorry for all this.”

“3 IN 1! ADVERTISING COFFEE!?”

“I’m really sorry.”

“What can we do now? Stop her!?”

“Of course YOU CAN’T! I mean you can’t. You already signed 6 years of contract with her and if you do, you’ll have to pay the compensation.”

“I’ll think of it later. Just ask her to stay at home and stay out of trouble for now. I’m busy. Your whole petty life can’t afford to replace my 5 minutes of my golden time.”

I can hear loud slam on the table, probably the director. Masato, he had to bear all the rebukes and blames meanwhile I stood outside, laying my ear close to the door.

“He spat on me!”

“Oh, here you go.” taking out a handkerchief from my bag.

“Stop it. You know what I meant. He asked you to rest.”

“Rest? Where?”

“Home my dear, home!” he yelled at me.

“Oh, I’m sorry.” I answered him quietly.

“Well, it’s not all your fault, but if this thing never happens, you will get more famous.”

I couldn’t reply his sentence. I was my fault, if I was careful enough…. The only word I could say is “Sorry.”

“Hmm, what can we do when there’s no time machine.” he sighed. “But seriously, you’re the first one to create such big news.” he continued.

I gave him a big stare.

“What? A young J-pop singer and an actress, who’s going to become a famous young star slept with 3 different guys from Johnny’s in a night.” He said it in fast pace.

“Skip that topic Masato, please.” I begged.

I did not want to talk about it anymore. It makes me feel even regret that as usual. I should not be so playful, perhaps ‘flirty’ the correct word to be used.

I started to think what I should do during the ‘rest’. Tons of boring days to go~

A week past and I’m turning into a mould. I was afraid going out because of paparazzi. Some issues had been running in my mind. I was thinking hard whether was there someone tried to set me up, whether was it some other artists purposely asked somebody add drugs into my drinks when I was with them.

Another few days past. Urghh, feeling nausea and faint now. I can’t stand it anymore! I’m tired of the same smell in this room. Every week Masato brought me one week of sufficient groceries. I grabbed my jacket and hat and went for a short walk. The park was empty. The breeze of the wind was refreshing, luckily the weather today was not hot, but the disguise made me felt uncomfortable. I need more freedom. Time machine is what I need now. “Einstein! Create the TIME MACHINE!” Without realizing, I was showing a weird pose like night fever. I looked around the park and there stood a young lad with tears on his eyes next to his mother.

“Hi, kid.” I waved at him with embarrass.

“Pretend you see nothing.” hushed the mother. He just cried and walked off. How rude!

“It’s really bad to scare off an innocent kid like this.” Suddenly voice of a man came from behind. I turned back and saw a gorgeous looking guy. I quickly turned back and tried to hide my face. I was embarrassed enough and now he’s here to pick me as a joke.

“You’re alright?” he asked.

“I’m fine.” I dare not to look at him and wanted to leave the park but it will be a waste if I did not get his contact.

“Are you sure? You seem to be embarrassed. Don’t worry; I’m not here to humiliate you.” He laughed.

That sentence even gave me the thought that he wanted to humiliate me.

I gathered up my courage and tried to be friendly. I turned over to him and showed him a big smile.

“I’m really fine. Don’t worry.”

“Time Machine.”

“Huh?”

“Nothing. Just the word that distract me from my reading.”

“Why?” I asked him curiously.

“Nothing.”

“Just answer me why.” Suddenly I felt like talking to him. After locking myself up for a week, I realized I need to talk to someone before I turned crazy. Masato was busy handling my problem, searching for new projects.

“Hmm…nothing. Hey, you want to go for a drink? My treat of course.” he invited.

During that very moment, “happiness” was playing in my heart. I was glad that I met a new friend, besides that, he did not know who I am. I felt safe to be with him.

“Sure.” I accepted his invitation.

While walking to a café nearby, he introduced himself as ‘Shou’.

SHOU

“I’m Shou.” I introduced myself to her.

“Oh, Shou. You can call me Mi-n-.. Mizuki.” she said hastily.

She’s quite pale for a girl yet she’s beautiful and elegant, except for her silly actions a few minutes before. Nowadays, many young girls, even paying 100 000yen they wouldn’t go out without their make ups. Even me, myself have to wear some make up at least once a day.

She did not know who I am. Usually girls would scream and came asking for my autographs and request taking pictures. I need to take a break for sometimes. The other members was busy composing music meanwhile I’ve already finished writing up my lyrics.

“You’re not from this area, aren’t you?” I asked.

She looked up at me. “No, you can tell?”

“Sure, let me guess. You’re originally from Okinawa?” I guessed.

“You’re clever, but it’s just your lucky guess right?”

“I’m a genius.” I smiled.

As we reach the shop, “This café, is one of the best in this area. The latte is great and they serve it in a bowl. Just take a seat somewhere in the corner. I’ll order the superb one for you”

“Really? I’m staying nearby but I didn’t know there’s such café house. Thanks anyway.” She just pondered off to find a nice seat.

“Here you go, vanilla flavored. Is it alright for you?” I said as I passed her the drink.

“This bowl is sure big.”

We chat for a moment about lattes and coffees. She’s seems to be an amateur about coffees.

“Hey, do you mind giving me your email? Maybe sometimes we can date each other for drinks or lunch.”

I can see she stopped drinking and thought for a while, I wondered what she was thinking about. She might think I was trying to court her because I used the word ‘date’.

“I mean date as in the friend’s dating.” I quickly said to her before she get any misunderstanding.

She’s still in her thought and I just sat there looking at her cute face. Finally she came back form her thought and gave me her email. As I was saving down her email, I quickly take a shot of her. I don’t feel like asking directly for her photo just in case she thinks that I’m a stalker. Well, I do look like a complete stalker now.

“So, you said you stay....” I was going to ask Mizuki more about her details then my phone rang.

“Sorry.” It’s Hiroto. I’m sure he’s having a little trouble with composing.

“Hello? Shou? You’re there?”

“Yes yes. Otherwise who will pick up the call?”

“Great! Would you come to the studio now?”

“Why?”

“Err, I’m having a bit trouble for the guitar riff. Tora’s ideas and ways don’t fit the way I want for the song.”

Yup. Just like what I thought, minor problems.

“Okay. I’ll be there tomorrow.”

“What? Are you kidding!?” he answered impatiently. “Get yourself over here right now.”

“I’m just joking. I’ll be there in half an hour.”

I hung on him and went back to Mizuki. She’s having a blur expression on her face.

“Sorry, business. Got to go. I’ll ask you out next time.”

“Sure. I think it’s time for me to go home now.” she gave me a very common answer. I feel bad leaving her like this, but I can’t do anything, Hiroto’s request. Band IS ALWAYS the first priority.

On the way to the car park, I looked at the photo I snapped. Somehow I felt she looked familiar. I felt like I saw her somewhere before. After a few minutes I stopped thinking about her and continue driving safely to the studio.

“Finally you’re here!” Hiroto called out loudly with a joy.

We started talking about the notes and everything and I gave him some suggestions.

“Man, you’re sure useful enough when I need you.”

“Woman, you’re sure useless enough when I’m not here.” I replied Hiroto sarcastically.

Hiroto walked off with his guitar, ignoring what I’ve said and continue with his piece.

Then I realized the other members were not around.

“Where are the others?” I questioned Hiroto.

“They’re out for a break. We’re human. We get hungry after tons of works.” he replied while focusing on his strings.

“I bet you’re not a human since you are here.”

“I’m not. I’m a squirrel.”

I gawked at Hiroto.

“Never mind. So where have you been just now? I can hear you’re relaxing in a coffee house.”

“Oh, wait. I’ll show you something.” I answered him and took out my cellphone. “Mizuki. Is she cute or what?” I showed him Mizuki’s photo. “I met her in the…”

“HELL YOU! She’s not whatever Mizuki! She’s Minami!” shouted Hiroto suddenly.

I was shocked with Hiroto’s reactions.

“Minami? Your sister?” I asked him stupidly.

Hiroto slapped his hand on his forehead.

“Minami Uehara. Uehara Minami! She’s in the paper last month, last week and a few days ago.” Hiroto continued.

His words made me even confused.

“Are you a donkey or what? Don’t you read newspaper? Isn’t that an adult’s normal routine?” he continued yelling at me as if I am a retarded person. “Wait. Let me search for you the papers. I think I stuffed it somewhere in the rest room.”

“You read during shitting?”

“Cut it off.” Hiroto walked away to the other room.

I started to think again. Minami, wait, I think I knew who is her! I ran to the rest room searching for Hiroto.

“Hiroto! I think I know who she was!”

I could see Hiroto body was inside the cupboard leaving his flat ass popping out like a doggie stucked in a pipe.

Hiroto pulled himself out from the cupboard.

“There. This one. Man, this news sure shocked me out.”

“That helped you to defecate faster.” I mocked Hiroto’s look when he was shocked and his feces just defecated out in a second by adding some sound effects. “My bowel is emptied in a second. Thanks to the newspaper! Effective!”

“Quit it. Read the news yourself, adult.” Hiroto said in an angry tone.

I took the paper and read it thoroughly. I saw some photos, the censored nude pictures of Minami on bed with three different guys. I can’t believe it’s her.

“Are you sure is her?” I doubted.

“Take your cellphone out and compare. I’m sure it’s her. Her figure was hot! Even though the photos were censored!” he replied.

I compared and they really look alike.

“Maybe it’s someone. Maybe someone who looked alike?” I tried to defense Mizuki or Minami.

Suddenly I remembered she mentioned her name tremulously and when I asked for her email, she need to think for minutes. My mind just concluded Mizuki is Minami after remembering.

“I guess it’s her.” I finally agreed with Hiroto.

“Right? I want to meet her. She’s hot.”

“I don’t think she is such a person. She’s keeping herself low and she’s certainly not a person who can simply have sex with guys.”

“And she’s hot.” Hiroto continued with his nonsense.

“Maybe she was set up.”

“And hot.”

“Would you stop it Hiroto. You really pissed me off!” I yelled at Hiroto this time.

“Sorry. Anyway, just don’t contact her anymore, just in case she would ruin our image of alice nine..”

“Don’t be like a gossiper. I don’t think she will. I’m sure she has her own reason.” I defended Minami again.

“Don’t tell me you like her Shou. She’s from the J-pop world. We are the visual-kei. Indies! Her earning could beat us twice.” Hiroto said. “Maybe not, since we’re now getting popular and a large crowd is supporting us, got ranked in Oricon, Music Station, photo shoots for Wink Up….”

I walked back to the studio leaving Hiroto mumbling alone.

I was confused, real confused.

The door bang opened and they guys were back.

“Woo. Fully-charged now. Let’s get back to work.” said Tora.

“That ramen shop is forever the first. The manager gave me a discount card!” squeaked Nao who was waving the card.

“Shou, you’re here. I thought you’re not coming in for today.” Saga asked.

I heard Saga but my mind set and commanded me to ignore Saga. I’m still thinking about Minami.

“Shou? Moshi mosh~!!”

“Ouch! Saga! Are you crazy! That’s a basketball!” I shouted out loud when Saga used a basketball threw on me.

“What the hell happened to Shou?” Tora asked Hiroto.

“I don’t know. Dilemma.” Hiroto smirked.

“DILEMMA?” all the members asked.

Stupid Hiroto. Not dilemma!

I sat in the studio for the whole day. I feel moody for some unclear reasons. The band was busy doing their on music.

“You’re mad because I backstabbed about her?” suddenly Hiroto came and asked.

I looked up at Hiroto from staring at the floor.

“I’m not that easily offended.”

“But you looked like you are.”

“Hiroto, how many years you’ve know me.”

“I’m not day-dreaming. You told them about Minami?”

“No. I didn’t.”

“Hope you didn’t. I am going back now.”

I grabbed my jacket and left the studio. I heard them whispering something about me with Hiroto. Damn Hiroto! I hope you will really keep your mouth shut.
